5 STEP FERTILIZATION PROGRAM
Early Spring: pre-emergent to help control weeds in lawn
Late Spring: pre-emergent with fertilizer, plus spraying of broadleaf weeds
Summer: slow release fertilizer
Early Fall: broadleaf weed control with fertilizer and spot spray
Late Fall: high Nitrogen winterizer fertilizer
AERATION AND GRUB CONTROL
Lawn Aeration: Where a machine removes plugs (cores) of soil and thatch from a lawn. This reduces soil compaction and allows oxygen, water and nutrients to penetrate into the soil. In Ohio Fall is the ideal time to aerate your lawn.
Grub Control: Grubs are beetle larva and according the the U.S. Department of Agriculture, they are one of the most damaging turf insect pests in the United States. They are also food to other lawn nuisances like moles, skunks and raccoons. Cultivating a full, thick lawn is one of the best ways to control Grubs from moving into your yard and applying a Grub Control adds another layer in protecting your lawn. At Cardinal Landscaping, we apply our Grub Control in the Summer where it attacks grub eggs and kills them before they hatch adding an extra layer of prevention and helps gain the upper hand on any grub infestation.
OVERSEED, SLIT SEED AND SOD INSTALLATION
Turf Overseeding helps to thicken existing lawns. When done with aeration it’s a powerful combination in helping your lawn remain healthy and full.
Slit Seeding is when we mechanically cut small furrows or slits into a lawn and deposit seeds into the cuts.
Sod Installation gives you instant results and an established lawn. It is also great for difficult areas and where seeding may not be successful.
